DSC for Cameroon, Togo and Burundi
During September and October 2007 the Secretariat will facilitate the establishment of National Decade Steering Committees in Cameroon, Togo and Burundi.

Decade Steering Committees are national structures that enable local Disabled Persons' Organisations (DPOs), government officials, the media, development organisations and donors to work together to ensure that disability and persons with disabilities are integrated into maintream policies and programmes.
The Steps that we follow in facilitating the creation of National Decade Steering Committees are as follows:
- Conduct desk research (stakeholders analysis, existing progs / policies, etc.
- Send introduction package to selected governments (PMO / PO cc Soc Development) and DPOs
- Prepare visit to selected countries.
Visit countries and do the following:
Day 1: Government (PMO/PO, Soc.Dev, MOFi)
Day 2: DPOs (Federation, blind, deaf, mental, physical)
Day 3: Partners (HI, CBM, SHIA/DSI, ADD, UNICEF, UNESCO, etc.
Day 4: Others (media, trade unions, employers fed, religious org, etc.)
Day 5: Partners meeting to start up DSC - Enter into MOU between SADPD – Government/DSC
